We would like to inform you about a very important award that our owner and Italian chef Riccardo Lucque has received, especially thanks to our restaurant.

The Secretary General of the Italian cultural institutions Accademia Italiana della Cucina Mr. Paolo Petroni recognized the excellence of Italian cuisine in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, May 21st 2014 by. The award ceremony took place during a reception at the Italian Embassy. The main protagonists of the evening were two chefs, Riccardo Lucque and Matteo De Carli, who in the Czech Republic, promote and protect quality Italian cuisine.

Riccardo Lucque, owner of Restaurants Aromi, La Finestra and Il Mercato, received the award "Premio Giovanni Nuvoletti" for the efforts made for conservation, understanding and appreciation of good traditional cuisine. Also his high entrepreneurial ability that allowed him to also open two well attended shops with bistros focusing on Italian cuisine in Prague was highlighted.

 

Another award, "Good Food Award of 2014 'was passed to Matteo De Carli, owner of the restaurant Casa De Carli in the historical centre of Prague.

Paolo Petroni said: "Gastronomy is a heritage subject to constant change.The task of the finest chefs is to create a balance between the tendency to innovation and protection of traditions."

At the same time praising the skills of the award-​winning chefs Petroni stressed that abroad there are many Italian restaurants where the cooking is better than in Italy.

It is the first time that the Delegation of Prague’smentioned Academy passes these awards. “This is also a manifestation of the quality of the award-​winning chefs and a high quality of Italian restaurants in the Czech Republic achieved in these years," said Academician Paolo Ferrari, a founding member of the Delegation of Prague.

The culinary experience of the evening was provided by award-​winning chef who prepared an excellent menu with bread dumplings with spinach on butter with sage, veal cheeks, warm zabaione with dessert wine ST. Michael Eppan, and fruit baskets filled with cream, cake with hazelnuts and walnuts. On this special occasion was served excellent wine ST. Michael Eppan, San Michele Appiano: Pinot Nero, Sauvignon and Passito Comtessand (collection Sanct Valentin).

We would like to thank the Accademia Italiana della Cucina for granted awards that are really highly appreciated by Riccardo Lucque and his the entire restaurant team.
